Jackie Robinson was the first African American baseball player to be in the major leagues his courage brought changes to the world. He helped change our country because he treated people fairly.
Jackie Robinson won a lot of awards. He won Rookie of the Year and the Most Valuable Player Award. He was also elected into the Baseball Hall of fame, his number was retired throughout baseball, and he won the Congressional Gold Medal.

Jackie Robinson Changes Baseball
Jackie Robinson changed America because he wanted white and black people to be on the same team. He didn’t want people to be separated. Now he is a hero because he got black and white people to be friends.
Jackie Robinson helped change baseball because he stood up for himself. He helped make it possible for other African Americans to play baseball in the major leagues. He showed a good character trait. He was very, very brave because people treated him badly and he still stood up for himself.

We remember Jackie Robinson because he was the first African American baseball player to play in the major leagues. His number was 42. The number on his jersey was retired from baseball. He was also selected into the Baseball Hall of Fame for his hard work.
